As a versatile video editor with over a decade of professional experience, I’ve amassed a varied resume that ranges from short films and features to commercials and trailers, as well as multiple viral videos on social media, both long form and short form. I’ve had narrative projects showcased in major festivals such as SXSW, Slamdance, Big Sky, and many more.
WORK HISTORY
freelance Video Editor
MAY 2024 - PRESENT
After Rooster Teeth’s closure in the summer of 2024, rather than jumping into my next full time position, I instead opted to return to freelance work. While primarily working on commercials and social media campaigns for major brands, it also provided me with the flexibility to work on multiple short films for major film festivals like SXSW, as well as a feature length documentary.
Marketing Video Editor - Rooster TEeth
OCT 2018 - MAY 2024
Rooster Teeth was a pioneer in internet entertainment with over 20 years worth of productions, ranging from animated series and live-action shorts to podcasts and gaming videos. This variety meant that as an editor, I needed to not only craft content for different genres but also tailor it to various platforms, each with its own audience and content consumption patterns.
I collaborated closely with directors, producers, and other team members to create full length trailers, commercials, sizzle reels, and custom social content. I also played a major role in the Creative Services department where I was able to collaborate during the planning and execution of marketing campaigns in order to help shape the creative.
Video Editor - mark rober
AprIL 2018 - July 2019
Mark Rober is a youtuber, engineer, inventor, and educator known for his engaging science and technology videos. While working as Mark’s first full time video editor, I helped create 13 main channel videos which include some of his biggest viral hits. Such as Glitter Bomb vs Porch Pirates which has 90 Million views, as well as World’s Largest Pool of Jello, with 140 million views, making it his highest viewed video of all time.
I worked closely with Mark to maintain his already established style while also finding ways to elevate each video. I would assemble and edit raw footage, first of the science experiments, then the scripted hosted segments of Mark. Mark and I would then work together fine tuning the storytelling aspects. Once the cut was complete, I would lead the process of adding music and sound effects, incorporating graphics, transitions, and color grading.
freelance Video Editor
Aug 2014 - June 2018
As a freelance video editor, I’ve had the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects. I’ve worked on long and short form content. Short films, features, commercials, youtube videos, podcasts, and wedding videography. Working as a freelancer helped me learn communication skills with clients, how to sometimes work as a “one man band“ when budgets didn’t allow for additional post-production support beyond video editing, and most importantly I learned how to balance my own time. This has made me a very quick video editor, able to execute projects on incredibly tight turnarounds while juggling other projects at the same time.
